How to Care for your Ugg® Boots

How to Care for your Ugg® Boots

As many people, not just women have decided to go out and get a pair of this latest hot fashion item, what you need to remember is the care you will need to give them to keep them looking as good as the day that you brought them.

A good point to remember to ensure that you keep them looking as good as the day you took them out of the box is not to wear them when the weather is wet or if it has snowed. These boots were only designed for cold weather and they certainly aren't as robust as a pair of Wellingtons when it rains.

However, if you find that your boots have got dirty then by following the points below you should be able to get them looking as good as when you brought them.

The first thing to remember is to only wash your boots by hand and in cold water. Never ever place them in a washing machine or in hot water to clean them unless you want to end up with boots too small and misshaped and unable to be worn again.

The next thing to remember is rather than placing your boots in front of a direct source heat or in direct sunlight what you should do is stuff them with paper towels and then place them in a position (not close to a heat source) and allow them to dry naturally. They make time to dry and you may need to replace the paper towels a number of times, but at least you know your boots will be in the same condition before you cleaned them and will have kept their shape.

However, if you feel that the above is all just a bit too much like hard work, then may be you should consider buying a cleaning product that has been specially designed for this type of boot. You will find that most of the manufacturers of these boots have produced their own cleaning products. But one piece of warning if you see a product that is not specifically designed for cleaning Ugg® boots but says it is ideal for cleaning sheepskin boots then don't use it!
